Mission Statement

"The mission of Free the Vote North Carolina is to eliminate barriers to participation in the electoral process that restrict or limit the right of citizens to vote for the person of their choice; to have their vote counted; to run for elective office, and; to organize and operate political parties that are treated equally under the law with other political parties."

About Us

Free the Vote North Carolina is a non-partisan political action committee, founded in 2008, dedicated to protecting freedom of speech, association and the right to vote of every North Carolinian through education, research, outreach and legislative advocacy. Overall, it is our goal to ensure that North Carolina gives the people an equal and fair chance to be represented at the polls.

We work to carry out our mission by promoting electoral reforms that provide an equal playing field to all voters and candidates regardless of party in order to end discrimination based on political affiliation in North Carolina. We also encourage media outlets and private organizatoins to provide a true service to the people through inclusive political debates.

It is Free the Vote North Carolina's primary purpose to ensure that alternative political parties, and those choosing to run without any political affiliation as unaffiliated candidates, have a voice that is not muffled by the dominant political players. We will fight to ensure that alternatives to the two major parties are allowed equal access to the election ballot through the reform of North Carolina's ballot access laws and work to dispel the myths of alternative party voting.

Free the Vote North Carolina is ready to step up to the plate for the North Carolina voter, are you? Stand with us and demand freedom for all and let′s Free the Vote NC!
